As my patients know, I have a framed quote in my office by Maya Angelou that states “…I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” It has always been one of my favorite quotes and constantly inspires me and reminds me of what really matters. I along with my entire staff strive to make our patients feel important, heard, and cared for. We hope you feel us wrapping our arms around you whether you are here in the office, on the phone, or remoting in for a telehealth appointment. We care how we treat you and how it makes you feel.
I think during this COVID-19 crisis we have been reminded to pause and reflect on what really matters and I think that kindness and our daily attitude and how we react to situations are so critically important. I keep telling myself that this is a battle against an invisible disease but also it is a mental battle to keep positive, keep busy, keep motivated and keep faithful and strong. So, Advanced Audiology Family, I share with you one of my other favorite quotes from Charles Swindoll on Attitudes. I first posted this quote in my dorm room at Ohio University “several years ago” and I have always had this quote on hand so I can pause and reflect and reset. I am sure many of you are familiar with it, but may it be inspirational and may it remind us to control our controllables.
